Harry Herbert
Chairman
Harry joined British Bloodstock Marketing (BBM) as Chairman in autumn 2010. He chairs the BBM Committee, hosts overseas breeders visiting Britain, and promotes the British racing and breeding industry overseas.
Harry is renowned throughout the racing and breeding industry as the managing director of Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, founded by him in 1992. Since then, the highly successful HTR racing syndicates have campaigned such leading performers as Harbinger, and the champions Lake Coniston, Tamarisk, Delilah, and Petrushka.
HTR also manages the horses of The Royal Ascot Racing Club, including the 2005 Derby winner Motivator. Along with his brother-in-law John Warren, Harry is closely involved in the purchasing of yearlings for both HTR and the RARC.
Harry began his career in racing working for a pedigree research company in the US, before moving into sales and promotion. He founded his own thoroughbred management company, HMH Management Ltd in the UK in 1985, providing promotional and advisory services to the bloodstock industry worldwide.
Harry is a member of The Jockey Club, a director of Newbury Racecourse plc, and Racing Consultant to Cartier.

Anna Powell
International Development Manager
Anna Powell is International Development Manager of British Bloodstock Marketing. Her role is to work closely with the nine shareholders of the industry funded organisation, propose and execute the marketing strategy and activity and to manage the budgets. It involves extensive travel to the major sales and races abroad with the aim of communicating to international owners, trainers and breeders the benefits of investing in Britain.
After graduating in Classics and Ancient History from Edinburgh University Anna pursued her passion for racing and has worked full time in the industry since 2003.
She spent four years working in racing in France where she gained valuable experience and became fluent in French.
Anna started as assistant journalist to the Racing Post correspondent Desmond Stoneham, based in Paris. She then worked as Media Relations Manager for the French Racing and Breeding committee, where she was responsible for the communications and marketing of the National Hunt. She also gained experience at the French Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association before returning home in August 2007 to work as Marketing Manager of the newly launched British Bloodstock Marketing.
She focused her initial attentions on raising the profile and awareness of the new organisation, which is charged with promoting British bred and British sold bloodstock in Britain and abroad.

Amy Bennett
Marketing Executive
Amy joined the team at BBM in June 2010 as Marketing Executive. Her role includes managing editorial content for the website, yearbook, and newsletter, as well as supporting Anna in implementing marketing strategy.
Amy gained a degree in English and American Literature at the University of East Anglia, before taking part in the British Horseracing Board’s Graduate Development scheme in summer 2003. As part of the scheme, Amy spent an eight week placement at the Racing Post, and was employed by the paper on a full time basis in January 2004.
After completing the four month Trinity Mirror journalism training course in Newcastle, Amy began work in the Racing Post’s bloodstock department. During the four and a half years she spent there, Amy gained a wide experience of the bloodstock industry, reporting from sales in Britain, Ireland, France, and Germany and writing on a range of issues, as well as contributing regular features.
Amy left the Racing Post in October 2008 and served briefly as editor of Pacemaker. Following its sale to Thoroughbred Owner & Breeder magazine, Amy moved to New Zealand in March 2009 where she spent a year as marketing manager at Stoney Bridge stud in Karaka while continuing to contribute articles to UK publications. She returned to Britain to join BBM.

Laura Cudzow
Marketing Assistant
Laura began working for British Bloodstock Marketing in August 2011 as Marketing Assistant. Her role includes project managing BBM’s domestic PR events, contributing to BBM’s advertising activity, representing BBM at key sales and race meetings, and providing office administration in support of the BBM team.
Laura graduated from Cambridge University with a BA Hons degree in History in June 2011. Previously, she had spent time working in Argentina, America, New Zealand and Australia for a range of racing and polo operations.
Following her penultimate year at university, Laura was accepted onto the British Horseracing Authority’s Graduate Programme and spent eight weeks working for BBM as part of the Programme in 2010.
Laura also combined her final year at university with working for various bloodstock agents at a number of yearling, foal, breeding stock and breeze-up sales.
